Clipper 09-10 Round the World Race
The Clipper Round the World Yacht Race is the only opportunity for people from all walks of life to compete in one of the toughest round the world yacht races.
Freshwater Lifeboat
Freshwater Lifeboat launches on average 30 times each year at the request of the Coastguard to assist vessels in distress or persons in difficulty in the waters off the "Back of the Wight". Last Year they assisted over 200 people in difficulty at sea.
JPMorgan Asset Management Round the Island Race
One of the world’s largest and most famous yachting races attracts more than 1800 boats. This year's race will take place Saturday 20th June 2009 circa 0500-0600 tbc. Startline is from Cowes following a course to Hurst Castle, The Needles, St Catherines, Dunnose, Bembridge Ledge Buoy, Solent Forts and Cowes Finish Line.

The Isle of Wight Festival 2009
John Giddings resurrected this festival in 2002 and today it is probably the premier music festival in the UK. The 2009 event already offers a strong Friday line-up.
Walk the Wight 2009
Walk the Wight 2008 attracted over 8,000 charity walkers raising £352,000 for the Earl Mountbatten Hospice. This years Walk the Wight, The largest charity walk in the South, takes place on Sunday 17th May 2009.
Yarmouth Old Gaffers Festival
29th - 31st MAY 2009 The sight of a harbour full of gaff rigged boats, dressed overall, evokes a bygone age and attracts thousands of visitors to the event every year. The Old Gaffers travel from all over the country to participate and race at the Festival.

She is built for exhilarating yet comfortable sailing, which allows us to tailor our charters to suit our guests. We are delighted to teach those willing to learn how to sail, pamper those who prefer to relax. For the veterans there is the chance to maximise boat speed, raising the distinctive scarlet Zulu spinnaker as Cetewayo demonstrates her racing credentials.
