Yarmouth is located on the western Solent and the town has flourished as a result of its natural harbour.

The Harbour is home to many yachts and motor cruisers which take advantage of the estuary of the River Yar.

Fishing trips to the Needles and Solent are available. The Pier at Yarmouth is also a great place to go fishing.

Pleasure boat cruises leave from Yarmouth Harbour quay and pier to various destinations such as Hurst Casle ferries, Wightlink & Puffin Cruises to Lymington or a Needles sunset trip.

During early September the Waverley, an old paddle steamer, collects people for trips to the Needles, round the Island or the Jurassic Dorset Coast.
